Northeast Indiana Parade of Homes, Part 1

Yesterday I went to my favorite annual event, the Builder's Association of Northeast Indiana's Parade of Homes tour! I saw some beautiful homes!

For those of you here for Pink Saturday, scroll through this post to reach it. You may want to come back for this though!

(Click on any picture to enlarge.)

In the past, the Parade of Homes has usually featured up to 8 homes scattered throughout northeast Indiana, but this year due to the economy and housing being slow, it featured a campus building and 3 homes. However, all of the homes were lakefront and nice sizes! I think it's still a good bargain with tickets priced at $6. This first building is the Trine (formerly Tri-State) University's new University Center. Walking up, I was not too excited about it...
But once inside, look at all the goodies I saw! I love this sculpture.
There was an awesome picture and matching vases high on a wall.
To reflect the multicultural and multinational student population, flags from many different countries are hanging.
I would have loved a rest area like this when I was in college! There is a gas fireplace with a fantastic colorful painting, and a massage chair!
This sculpture moves! It is set in water, and the wheel moves around with the ball inside, which rolls as the wheel moves. Very cool.
Trine University in Angola, Indiana, is set in a beautiful location. The campus is clean and pretty. I spotted these townhouses. I think this is student housing, perhaps for those who are parents or have families.
That concludes the University Center tour.

Next stop was the the Summerhill on Crooked Lake, a 3226 square foot home. It was lovely!

I adore this living room with the pale green couch and floral chair. Aren't those shutter planters on the wall just the cutest idea?
Pretty dining area...I love that hutch! Realized later I didn't photograph the kitchen. I guess I wasn't overly impressed with it.
A door in the dining area leads to the deck. Now this is my idea of living! I have a special place in my heart for Adirondack chairs.
I wish this bedroom picture came out better. There is so much glare from the window that looks out over the lake. The bedspread is so very pretty.
This night table is extra sweet!
I like this bedroom even better!
There was an adorable painted dresser in this room too.
What a great bathroom! You can see a closet through the door. I used to have a bedroom about the size of that closet!
This is the 3rd bedroom in the house, and I loved this wall idea. Those are woven placemats that are very inexpensive.
There are two more stops on the tour, and even lovelier than this house! This will be a 2 or even 3 parter due to the amount of pics.

It was such a lovely day with temps in the high 70s and sunny skies. Toward the end though, the skies were clouding up, but I made it home without getting caught in the rain.

I'll post Part 2 at 8:00 a.m. Monday, and if I need a 3rd part, it will post the same time on Tuesday.

Here's to happy home dreaming!

Oh what a gorgeous house that is, and right on the water. Ahhhhhhhhh... I would sit out on that deck for hours! And lucky you with temps in the 70s! We won't be feeling those temps for at least another 2 or 3 months!
LOVED the idea of the placemats on the wall. What a great idea for a kid's room!

Hey Kady

Thanks so much for the tour. When I lived in Utah I went to the parade of homes every year and loved it. They don't have that kind of thing here sadly enough. What great dressers!! I loved the white one especially. I'm anxiously awaiting part 2!
