The lilacs are in bloom! When I was growing up, these were among my favorite flowers, and I loved the smell. I used to beg for my mom to buy me lavender scented products from Avon. Today was a warm, beautiful day and even though it was overcast, I sat out on the deck. As I breathed in the fresh air, breezes from the river sent the rich scent of lilacs wafting my way. I have two lilac bushes at the edge of the yard on the riverbank, and the largest must be 10 foot high!

I thought the lilac bush would make a terrific background for some pics. My youngest took some pics of me, then I asked him to let me take a pic of us together. This is a child who loves, and I mean LOVES to take pics of himself, but then he decided to be shy. It still shows his cuteness though!
Before going in for the evening, I decided to collect some blooms from the lilac bush and from two other bushes. I'm going to take it in to work tomorrow to brighten my office.

I noticed a Thankful Thursday on someone's blog. Today I am thankful for the warm sun on my face, gentle breezes, the scent of flowers in the air, and even teenagers! God is so good.

Hi, that's a lovely picture of you and your teenager, I don't think my teenager and I can stop fighting long enough to take a picuture. Everyone says we look just alike that's why we can't get along. I love her though. Anyway your flowers are beautiful and I could almost smell them as you described them. Deb
