Here it is, Pink Saturday, and I am late posting! Sorry! I accidentally fell asleep in the recliner last night instead of getting this post up before midnight.
Anyhow, I have a very unique pink subject this week. Have you ever seen a diner with a pink roof? I have! Lester's Diner in Bryan, Ohio, has just that!
Here is a picture of it. By the way, I didn't take any of these pictures. I found them at Google Images.
And here is one a little closer. Is this not too cool for words?
Here is the famous coffee cup sign. Legend has it that when the creators of the "Alice" TV show (from the 70's, anyone remember?) were looking for inspiration for Mel's Diner, that they noticed this sign, and Mel's Diner was born! I can assure you that the coffee cup sign, though it has been refurbished over the years, was in place well before the 70's.
Here it is at dusk, just starting to light up for the night. Look at the pink "coffee" spilling out of the cup!
This is a picture of the restaurant at night, all lit up! Get a load of that deep pink! I can't help but love it. There must have been a vintage car event nearby, because look at all those hot cars from the 50's!
Lester's really does feature a huge cup of coffee. Look at this happy fellow! I have no idea who he is, but he is probably a Bryan, Ohio, resident.
Lester's is a popular hang out in Bryan. I have been there a number of times myself, and my daughter worked there for a short time. The food is good and inexpensive. It's the kind of place where old timers sit and gab for hours at a time, sipping on their big cups of coffee.
I hope the place never closes! Bryan, Ohio, would never be the same!
For more pink posts, find a list at Beverly's How Sweet the Sound.
Oh a diner... I would love to go and sit awhile!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday!

What a cool place. Maybe all of us pinkies should meet there one day.
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday, Kady.
Well "kiss my grits" I remember Mel's Diner.
ReplyDeleteLesters looks like cool place. I love cafes' diners that aren't chain eateries.
Happy PS
Kris
This was very cool, Kady! It's a rare thing to find a diner down here in FL. In NY they were all over the place and I loved eating in them. They always had such yummy, greasy food.
ReplyDeleteJustine :o )
Oh, how cute is that diner!
ReplyDeleteI love that diner. That would be a fun place to hang out and get some good food and a big cup of coffee. Sounds like our kind of place.
ReplyDeleteThey don't make diners like they used to ... so this one is a 'keeper' for sure! Diner food is the very best - ranks right up there with truck stop food (in my humble opinion!)
ReplyDeleteI love the old unique diners that aren't part of some big national chain..they have so much more charm. I hope it never has to close down!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun diner! I especially liked the chap drinking the coffee haha that was hilarious. I wish we could have more of those fun vintage diners!!
ReplyDeleteHey Lady.. hope all is well!
ReplyDeleteStop at my post when you get a chance and participate!
What a unique place! I love those kinds of places! And it's pink! Very neat! Thanks for showing us! Nancy
