Pink Saturday/Pink bedding

Edited to add some thrilling news!: Shelia of Note Songs is home and safe! Her house suffered almost no damage. I am crying tears of joy because I am so happy for her! For those of you not familiar with her situation, she is a resident of Galveston Island and evacuated on September 12. Her picture is posted on my sidebar. Couldn't wait to share this wonderful news!

Welcome to another Pink Saturday! One of the benefits of being a single lady is that I can indulge my love for pink bedding with no one to complain about it being too frou frou! I love this set of dusty pink sheets. They are from Kohls, 300 thread count. Oh they are so soft! And the more I wash them, the more I love them!
I love my bedspread too. I found it in a cute little shop in the Hocking Hills. I had seen it the year before, so I saved up ahead of time to buy the quilt. I was so happy to be carting it home on my trip! There is more to the story, but I'll get to that at the end of this post.
It seems that my feet are always cold. I like having an extra quilt folded at the end of the bed. This is such a soft, nicely worn quilt. Actually, its the bottom of a wedding ring quilt, but the colors clash with my new bedspread so I flipped it over.
Sometimes I just keep my pink knit throw at the end of the bed.
When I make the bed, I put some pretty pink pillows on it too.
When I make the bed properly, this is what it looks like.
Ok, here is the rest of the story on the bedspread. See the matching shams? They did NOT come with the quilt, and I was having a heck of a time finding shams that looked right. I will tell you that I spent around $80 on the quilt. I thought it was a boutique quality quilt. Buyer beware!

One day I was visiting the local Big Lots store, and much to my amazement, there on the shelf was the bedding set: quilt and shams. And for only $25 total! Say what?!?! I was so mad! However, since I would have spent at least that much alone on shams that went with my bedding, I went back a couple days later and bought the set. I figure if this quilt wears out, then I have a brand new spare, or I can double them up on cold winter nights. That is, if I can't get one of those Misters to keep me warm like I described in my previous post on 7 qualities I'm looking for in a man!

If I do find one, do you think he would be bothered by the pink bedding and pink sheets? Nah, I'm going to be wearing one of those pretty pink nighties from a previous post and wearing pretty pink nail polish. I'll be kissing him with my pink lips and he isn't even going to notice. No siree!

Here's to pretty pink dreams!
