First of all, big apologies to those who gave me awards as I didn't get them posted on my side bar. Oops! Poor Justine gave this to me some time ago. Then since I didn't have it on my sidebar, she awarded it to me again! I finally have it up, Tiney! Thanks so very much! I really am glad you like my blog so much. Oh, and you MUST check out her latest blog post! Hilarious! Kids say (and do) the darndest thing, and this one was a doozy!
I also need to apologize to Tara at Days Missed on a Hammock for not posting it on my sidebar too, though I did acknowledge both her and Justine in an earlier post.
Well the sweet Sherry at Edie Marie's Attic also blessed me with the same award! Thank you, Sherry!
Since yesterday was officially the first day of autumn, I am sharing pics of my front porch fall decorations from last year. It was 80+ degrees here today! Hard to get into the spirit of fall when it still feels like summer!
I just love this little scarecrow. I found him at Big Lots. The mums and the pumpkin are real! I was hoping that he would scare away winter...and on occasion my teenagers...but he is just too darn cute to be scary.
I found the chair below at my favorite local antique shop. I had been driving by and lusting after it when one day I decided to stop and check it out. The price had been marked down to just $29! I scooped it out. It already had the fall flowers arranged on it. The sparkly pumpkin is from Big Lots.
The wreath below is also from Big Lots and about as "faux" as you can get! I tried to find one like it tonight, but they don't have them in stock this year. Darn!
I'm not sure what I'll come up with different for this year, but since I now have the red bench, I know I can come up with something cute for it!

I really do love autumn. It's my favorite season, but I have loved summer since moving here. I'm not really ready to say good-bye to it yet, and it seems to want to stick around a while longer!
Until then, I'm being dragged kicking and screaming into fall!
Oh girl, I am sooooooooooo happy to welcome autumn to Florida! It's only supposed to be 80 or so degrees today!!!!!!!!!!! Wooooooooooo hooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! Right now it's a "chilly" 74 and it feels GREAT!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I just love how you decorated last year, but you HAVE to post after you decorate this year too! I wanna see the red bench all decked out. I love that chair, but what if it rains? Is it covered?
Justine :o )
Kady,
ReplyDeleteYour decorations are soo cute! Gotta love the fall!
Be good,
santa
You're really TRYING by showing us last year's decorations. They look good. Didn't you save them for this year? I mean the ones that aren't real and won't rot.
ReplyDeleteAnd, living in Ohio, I imagine that it'll feel like fall really soon.
I agree, It's hard to think Fall when it reaches the low 90s by late afternoon. But the temp. is going down, so I wont complain. Your decor looks nice. I just added pops of color to my booth at the Antique Mall. I am trying to hold off til Oct. before decorating the house. :) But it sure is hard. I have seen pic of fall decoration or fall art on a ton of sites. xoxo, Joanna
ReplyDeleteBe happy Kady...we had to turn the HEAT ON last night...YUCK I hate it when the furnace goes on...it's so depressing! Your fall decorations look really pretty...I especially like the little chair with the flowers. And don't you just love the beautiful award from Justine. I was so tickled when I got that one! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteHey Kady! I love your fall decor....that chair by the front door is just perfect and such a charming way to greet visitors! Congrats on your awards too!

I truly enjoy the seasons through you guys, I can't believe how much I know about fall decor and mantlescaping!! ha ha!!
ReplyDeleteLoved your fall decor Kady, but like Justine I want to see what you do this year!!
I don't do Fall decorating because I don't have the room to store all that stuff with all the xmas stuff I have! So I'm enjoying looking at all of y'alls! Very cool!
ReplyDeleteKady, Great fall fabulousness! I LOVE that chair, and it looks so cute decked out for fall! ~Rhonda

Hi Kady, Very pretty, I love that chair too. I really don't do anything but a Fall Wreath on the front door. Once I put pumpkins on the porch because I found them at Piggly Wiggly for 4 for a dollar. Deb
