Farewell to Stella!

Stella has moved on to her next destination. She will no longer be sitting here in her favorite little chair and play with the birds on my shelf. I will miss having her here. I fear I kept her longer than I should, and I apologize for that. It was due to a small financial crisis that kept me from taking her anywhere and even mailing her on, but that's over and she is on to her next adventure!

Before I tell you where she is going or what I added to her dress, let me tell you a little about Ohio where she visited. I had also hoped to take her to Indiana and Michigan since they are so close, but I wasn't able to.

Ohio is known as the Buckeye State.

We have a very uniquely shaped state flag.

The cardinal is our state bird.

Here is our symbol, the buckeye. Though these are a cool nut, they are better if they are candy buckeyes!

During Ohio's bicentennial a few years ago, artists painted this logo on one barn in each of our 88 counties. This is the barn in the county where I live, and I have seen it several times.

And this is the barn from my former county. I have seen this barn also.

This is a round barn, actually an octoganal barn, located in a city in the town north of us. I have passed it many times.

This is one of my favorite types of scenes here in Ohio. I love driving in the country seeing all the greenness and our beautiful barns. It is even more striking when you see a wheat field...yes, amber waves of grain and all that good stuff!

Ohio has one of the countries most famous amusement parks, Cedar Point. It is on the shore of Lake Erie, our famous Great Lake.

Ohio is also host to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, located on Lake Erie in Cleveland. I haven't been there yet.

I looked and looked for something to add to Stella's dress. I tried to find something that would represent Ohio, and finally found some cute cardinal buttons, so this is what I added to Stella's dress.

On their last day here, Stella and her dog Gally said their good-byes to us. Jake and Gally rested in their favorite chair.

And frolicked outside once more.

Stella and Jared watched a movie on his computer one more time. Sorry the picture is so dark!

And Stella and I shared our good-byes.

Before she left, I packed her into her little bed before sealing up the box. She assured me not to worry about her being in the box. After such adventures, she loves the nice long nap as she travels to her next hostess. So where is she going next?

Yay, she's going to Florida! Jill of Jill's Believe it or Not asked for Stella early on, and I think she is going to have a FABULOUS time with Jill and her two sweet daughters! She said that she would take Stella to some wonderfully fun places. I hope that they all visit with Jill's sister Justine while she is in Florida because I think she would have the time of her life when the two sisters get together!

I am going to leave the Stella's tag up on my blog, so you can click on it at any time to follow Stella's adventures. She is sure having the adventure of a lifetime!

I will miss her, but am eager to see all the place she gets to go before she returns home to England on December 1.

Bye Stella! Have a great trip!

Oh, Kady! Saying goodbye to Stella is bittersweet! What a cute idea giving her the little cardinal button! Oh, dear one, do you know what you've done! Sending her to Jill's? Lord have mercy! There's no telling what will happen now! :) You know I'm teasing. I'm sure Jill will have some very funny posts.
Happy Fourth, Kady!

Kady! Oh I should be more observant! I would have loved having Stella as a house guest here in Northern Indiana! if she wants to head back this way let me know! She may come even in fall for awhile she can go to Notre Dame for some football and attend my daughter shower and wedding! Congratulations on the job! Heck,I'd take even a part-time ! I want so cash, even puny amounts would be welcomed!!LOL Yes, i did blow my stack but I guess it was due. I did start getting more motivated to get back to school in late August I need my degree to move onto the next. I guess your never to old to become a career girl are you? Well getting late have a sparkly Fourth! Love :) Lori

Hi Kady
Stella is going to be so sad to leave you. I can tell you two became the best of friends during her visit. I also think she has a 'thing' for Jared so she will be sorry to leave him too!
I love the cute cardinal you added to her dress. The information you shared about Ohio was really interesting. I love all the barns especially the octagonal one. The buckeye we would call a conker over here.
Thank you for being a wonderful Stella host. I have really enjoyed your posts. I now look forward to her trip to Florida.
Happy 4th July.

Hi Kady!

What fun you've had with Stella! I loved the trip to Grand Rapids, one of my favorite towns. I'm glad Stella had a chance to see it. The little cardinal was the perfect addition to her. And I think she probably enjoyed her extended visit with you and your son and the puppies. She looked very happy!!

Big hugs, Sherry

OMG...Stella is going to have the time of her life with that cutie, Jill and her cutie sister, Tiney, if they get together. Even if they don't, Jill can tell Stella all the funny things Tiney tells US on her blog!! Hahaha..I know you had fun with Stell...and I know she loved living with you for this time. If that little Stella baby ever comes to Sweet Nothings, I'm gonna teach her to bake a Cherry Pie...hahahah....fun!!
Have a great week, dear one..
