My youngest son

I'm sorry I haven't been on much this week. I haven't even been leaving comments. Here's why: My youngest son left for Texas this week with his dad. He'll be gone for6 weeks.
He may be almost 16, but he's still my baby. I've never been away from him longer than a week! Anyhow, we spent family time together on Sunday when his sister and her boyfriend came to visit. On Monday, I let him have the computer since he would be leaving. On Tuesday I got home very late from work and fell asleep early. Yesterday, I was trying to figure out what to post about my son.
Here is my boy this spring next to the driveway garden. Below is a picture of him from last summer with the neighbor's cat Fat Boy who is now missing. For more about that read this old post: http://bonnielane.blogspot.com/2008/05/furchild-jake-tribute-to-fat-boy.html
People have told me he looks like magician Criss Angel in the above pic. Below is a picture of him being silly while mowing. I call it his Rock Star mowing.
My son is quite the artist. I can't find any of his drawings, but here is a stained glass picture of a dragon he did in school.
And here is a woodburning he did. I don't know if he drew this free hand or copied it from a picture, but it's pretty cool.
Here he is asleep with Dino. When we were clothes shopping last fall, he begged for this stuffed toy. I thought he was teasing, but he really did want it. He has had so much fun taking pictures of the dinosaur in different situations like talking on the phone, wearing shoes, holding a toy gun. My favorite is a little movie he made of the dinosaur dancing.
I tried to add it from You Tube, but I couldnt' figure it out, but if you'd like to see it, it's only 11 seconds long and titled "Dinosaur Dancing." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcPDFDbl3mo&feature=related
Anyhow, I got a call tonight that he and his dad had made it safely to Texas. His dad just moved there, and he wanted my son to spend a good part of the summer. I'm enjoying my quiet time now, but ask me in a couple weeks how I feel about it all!
I'll try to catch up on all my blog visits this weekend!

As much as you want him to spend time with his Dad I know you must be torn.

Sending my daughter off to college was a miserable time for me. I was so torn. I knew that was where she belonged yet my heart ached for per physical presence...especially at first. As time passes, it will get better. In the meantime, you will be in my thoughts.

Take care and for the moment, just enjoy the quiet and alone time. He'll be home in no time!

Hi Kady... This was the sweetest post ever - and I absolutely LOVE the last photo of your son... Makes my heart melt! It's funny, I started with all pink (and some green) and evolved into blue.. I still have teh pink and green - luckily everything kind of blends in together! LOL Hummers are amazing, aren't they? It really is a gift when I see them in my garden. I have an award for you on my blog! I must have been posting it right as you were leaving comments! LOL...Donna

Aw, you've got empty nest syndrome, don't you? Just think of it this way. He'll be back to ya in 6 weeks and your ex will then be experiencing missing him! I can tell that you guys have a really close relationship, which can be soooooooo hard to do when they're at that age. Good for you girl!
I wish you could have found more of his artwork, because from what I can see, this boy does have talent!

I enjoyed Dancing Dinosaur! That reminds me of our 18 yr. old..... (our youngest)
On our recent trip, he insisted on buying a blue rubber duck, then, throughout the trip, we took photos of "Geeves" the Duck in various situations. LOL!! Too fun!!

I know how you are feeling. My son used to spend summers, and holiday breaks with his dad. It can be lonely without him, but he will be back soon!

He is quite the artist. I know how you feel about him leaving...I had to do the same thing with my son. Just try to enjoy the little break you have.

Well girl, how you holdin' up? These are great pics! He does some cool art. I got kinda choked up with Fat Boy...I'm glad you had the funny rock star pic after that!
The dino animation was cute, but not as cute as the pic of him sleeping with him, hehe! I'm constantly taking pics like that, I guess it never stops, eh?
